CNC Machining Facilities

CNC machining is carried out at R D Castings within our purpose built 12,000 square foot factory, where the emphasis is on efficiency in every way possible.

The facility has been designed to minimize product movement through this area, reducing any wasted time. All of our milling machines are twin pallet machines, allowing us to load fresh components off line, whilst the CNC machining is being completed on the other pallet, thus removing all load times. All machines our programmed offline with a DNC link to minimize any downtime thus ensuring that our customers do not pay for non productive time. We also have fitted to our mills a high speed Nikken 4th axis allowing us to machine virtually any features.

All CNC fixturing is designed and made in our in house toolroom, ensuring the most competitive fixture costs, and guaranteeing on time delivery.

CNC machining is also carried in our turning section where we have recently installed a Mazak Nexus QTNX 250 machine, this machine allows us to very efficient on turning cast/billeted components,

R D Castings also have the facility to supply any machined components including 1 off turned/milled parts in any materials, including brass and stainless steel to name but a few, this also includes the use of Sliding Head Auto Machines, and fully auto bar fed lathes and mills.

For very high volume milling and turning work, with have a partnership in China which is a dedicated sub contractor of R D Castings. These facility allow us to produce very high volume work at a fraction of the cost of UK sources, and include any material requirements for example brass stainless steels to name but a few. Through this source we currently supply many of our existing customers, with both milled/turned components and also fully assembled products were required.
